Nice to meet you!
My name is Ron Schokker. I'm from the Netherlands but based in the UK since 2014, currently at Contentful where I help customers across Europe reimagine their content operations, moving away from legacy CMS setups towards composable, API-first architectures.
My career started in broadcasting, archives and media management, with technical support woven throughout. That grounding proved formative. It gave me a lasting appreciation for the things that make or break content operations: metadata, structure, findability and the unglamorous but critical work of keeping media organised at scale. It also taught me early on that the best solution isn't always the most sophisticated one, it's the one that actually solves the problem in front of you.
From there I spent ten years in PreSales across SaaS, covering Online Video, Digital Asset Management and AI and Machine Learning, before moving into the headless CMS world.
I've worked with startups and household names alike across media, marketing, financial services, healthcare, hospitality and retail. The industries change, but the conversations are usually about the same things: too much complexity, not enough time and technology that isn't quite doing what people hoped it would.
I cover the full sales cycle, from technical discovery and proof of concept through to close. My starting point is always the business problem rather than the product. A demo means very little if it isn't grounded in what a customer is actually trying to achieve. The real work doesn't stop at the signature either. Seeing a customer get genuine value from something long after go-live is what I'm in it for, really.
Contentful | Hybrid, UK
Contentful is a leading API-first, headless CMS that gives teams a centralised hub for creating, managing and distributing content across any channel.
As a Solution Engineer, I partner with digital, marketing, and engineering teams across EMEA to move them from rigid, legacy CMS setups to composable, API-first content architectures on Contentful, so they can ship faster, personalise at scale, and reduce operational overhead.
What I do (and why it matters):
Lead technical discovery with stakeholders to uncover bottlenecks in content production, governance and delivery, then map these to a Contentful architecture that cuts time-to-market.
Deliver tailored demos, workshops and proofs of concept using the customer's own use cases, demonstrating measurable gains in content velocity and developer productivity.
Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, aligning developers, marketers and content editors around a shared composable roadmap.
Linius | Remote, UK
Linius (now ION Video - ASX: IOV) is a video infrastructure company pioneering programmable video as AI-ready infrastructure, addressing one of the most compelling opportunities in the digital economy.
As the founding UK Solutions Lead and first SE on the ground, I worked directly with the CEO and Sales Lead to build go-to-market strategy from scratch, owning partner relations and account management.
In December 2025, a shareholder-driven restructuring dissolved UK operations.
Brightcove | Remote, UK
Brightcove offers a scalable, reliable and secure streaming platform that allows organisations to host, share and stream video content.
I worked closely with top brands and media companies to maximise the impact of video technology in achieving their goals. My responsibilities included managing the technical aspects of the sales process, such as conducting technical qualifications, preparing bid responses, delivering solution briefings, and leading proof-of-concept initiatives. I also coordinated technical resources to ensure the proposed solutions align with client needs. By bridging technical expertise with business objectives, I drove innovation and delivered successful, tailored outcomes for clients.
Speechmatics | Cambridge, UK
Speechmatics develops Automatic Speech Recognition software, based on recurrent neural networks and statistical language modelling.
In my role as a Solution Engineer, I provided technical expertise to support Speechmatics' growth throughout the sales lifecycle, helping customers integrate the speech-to-text API into their applications and workflows. I worked closely with the wider sales team to demonstrate how Self-Supervised Learning models deliver high-accuracy transcription, with features including real-time and batch processing, speaker diarisation and sub-500ms latency. A key part of my role involved configuring flexible deployment options (cloud, on-prem or hybrid) to meet each customer's specific privacy, latency, and integration requirements.
Imagen Ltd | Cambridge / London, UK
Imagen (now Reuters Imagen) is a cloud-native Digital Asset Management platform (DAM/MAM). It helps to manage, enrich and distribute large-scale, mission-critical media files and drive more value from content.
As a Product Specialist, in what was my first Sales Engineering role, I supported the sales and business development teams in delivering Imagen's platform and professional services. I managed the presales process from initial qualification through to close, including conducting technical discovery, delivering solution demonstrations, preparing RFP responses and running proof-of-concept projects that showcased how the platform's asset management and workflow capabilities could be tailored to each customer's specific content operations. Post-sales, I delivered customer training, onboarding and migrations to ensure successful adoption.
I played a key part in winning (and on-boarding of) clients such as BBC Studios, Endemol Shine UK, Formula One, Champions Hockey League (CHL), EuroLeague Basketball (ELB), International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), International Tennis Federation (ITF), World Curling Federation, Vubiquity (Amdocs), LADbible, Laureus, LOOKSfilm, Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and Aon.
